Services
Roof repair, replacement and storm damage work in Calvert & St. Mary's Counties.
Most roofs don't need replacing — they need someone to find the actual problem. We start there, and tell you plainly what you're looking at.
Roof repair & leak diagnosis
Stains on the ceiling, missing shingles, a drip that only shows up in a hard rain. We trace the leak to its source — not just where the water lands — and fix that.
Full roof replacement
Architectural shingle or standing-seam metal. Tear-off, deck inspection and repair, ice-and-water shield, proper ventilation, and a clean site when we leave.
Storm & wind damage
After a nor'easter or summer storm: emergency tarping, a photo-documented damage report, and help putting the insurance claim together. We'll meet the adjuster on site.
Gutters & flashing
Flashing around chimneys, pipes and walls is where most leaks start. We reseal or replace it, and repair or replace gutters and downspouts so water goes where it should.
Roof inspections
For a home sale, a new rental, or peace of mind before winter. A walk of the roof and the attic, photos of what we find, and a written report you can hand to a buyer or insurer.
Skylights & vents
Leaking skylights reflashed or replaced, ridge and box vents, bathroom and kitchen exhaust properly vented through the roof instead of into the attic.
Why Driftwood Roofing
The person who looks at your roof is the person who fixes it.
Plenty of roofing outfits send a salesperson up the ladder and a crew you've never met the next week. Here it's Bobby on the roof for the inspection, Bobby writing the quote, and Bobby on site for the work. You get one name and one number from start to finish.
Every inspection comes with photos and a short written report — what we saw, what needs doing now, what can wait. If the right answer is "a small flashing repair, not a new roof," that's what the report will say.

Think you might have storm damage?
Wind-lifted shingles and hail bruising aren't always visible from the ground, and insurers have deadlines for filing. Call or text after any big storm and we'll come take a look — free — and document anything we find with dated photos.
If there's a claim to make, we'll write up the damage, meet the adjuster at your house, and do the repair once it's approved. No claim, no problem: you'll still have a report showing your roof is sound.

Roof repair in Solomons, Lusby, Drum Point & St. Leonard
Waterfront and near-water homes on the Patuxent and the Bay take the worst of it: salt air that eats fasteners and flashing, wind off the water that lifts shingle edges, and big trees in Chesapeake Ranch Estates and along Route 4 that drop limbs in every storm. We do a lot of flashing, ridge and wind-damage repair down here.
Prince Frederick & Chesapeake Beach
Older roofs in Prince Frederick and Huntingtown that are coming due for replacement, and bayfront homes in Chesapeake Beach and North Beach where metal is worth a serious look. Rentals along the beach get a lot of weather and not much attention between guests.
Leonardtown, California, Hollywood & Lexington Park
Our home base. Homes along Route 235 and Route 5, neighborhoods full of Pax River families who need a roof handled while they are posted elsewhere, and houses changing hands that need an inspection report a buyer or lender will accept. Great Mills and Mechanicsville too.
FAQ
Common questions.
How much does a roof replacement cost in Southern Maryland?
It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, how many layers come off, the condition of the decking underneath, and whether you choose architectural shingle or standing-seam metal — so an honest number needs a look at the actual roof. The inspection is free, and you get a written price with photos before you decide anything. If a repair will do, we'll say so.
Is the inspection really free?
Yes. Coming out, getting on the roof, taking photos and writing up what we found costs you nothing, whether or not you hire us for the work. The only exception is a formal inspection report for a real-estate transaction, which we'll quote up front.
Do I need a whole new roof, or just a repair?
Usually a repair. Most leaks come from flashing, a few damaged shingles, a vent boot or a skylight — not from the roof as a whole. If the roof is near the end of its life we'll tell you that too, with photos, so you can plan rather than get surprised.
Will you help with my insurance claim?
Yes. We photograph and document storm damage, write it up in a form your insurer can use, and meet the adjuster at your house. The claim and the payout are between you and your insurance company; we do the work once it's approved.
Shingle or metal?
Architectural shingle is the common, cost-effective choice and comes in long manufacturer warranties. Standing-seam metal costs more up front but shrugs off wind and lasts longer, which is worth considering near the water. We install both and will give you a straight comparison for your house.
How long does a replacement take?
Most homes are one to two days once materials are on site. We'll give you a schedule with the quote and keep you posted if weather moves it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Maryland Home Improvement Commission license #117937, with liability insurance. You can look the license up on the MHIC site, and we're happy to send a certificate of insurance before work begins.
